Atlantis, Paradise Island, played host to the 11th Michael Douglas & Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament (MD&F), May 25-27, 2012 at the 18-hole, par 72 championship One&Only Ocean Club Golf Course. The event airs Saturday, July 7th (tonight) on the Golf Channel at 1PM PST/4PM EST.

Co-hosting the tournament with Michael Douglas was Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman, on behalf of PLAN!T NOW (P!N), the disaster preparedness non-profit which grants scholarships to students impacted by severe weather events. Proceeds from the televised golf tournament, featuring three teams of celebrity golfers, equally benefit P!N and The Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF), the leading Hollywood charity providing health, financial and social services to the entertainment community.

Kenny Chesney, longtime PLAN!T NOW advocate, contributed to the fundraising efforts with a LIVE Benefit concert on Saturday, May 26 at Atlantis. This special intimate performance was before Chesney kicked off his summer tour last month. Since its inception, MD&F has raised over ten million dollars for MPTF.

“PLAN!T NOW has long used star power to build people power in the service of disaster preparedness. The organization's tuition scholarships and public education campaigns depend on fundraisers such as the Michael Douglas & Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament. I was honored to co-host this year's event and am very grateful to all the contributors, including Kenny Chesney; the Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas; event staff across several organizations; and our friends at the Motion Picture & Television Fund."- Morgan Freeman, on behalf of PLAN!T NOW.

The MD&F Tournament unfolded on the resort’s Tom Weiskopf designed 18-hole championship course – One&Only Ocean Club Golf Course – a picturesque 72-par layout featuring breathtaking views from signature holes and seaside greens and tees stretched over 7,100 yards of coastline.

“We had a great weekend of golf and a lot of fun for two great causes. I’m grateful to the golfers, coaches, sponsors and everyone who helped make the tournament a success,” said Michael Douglas. “I’m proud that we’ve raised over $10 million dollars since the tournament’s inception.”

 Ernest Borgnine

Ernest Borgnine, who won a Oscar in the best-actor category  for playing a lovesick butcher in "Marty" in 1955, died today. He was 95. His spokesperson said he died of Renal Failure.

Most of us from the 60's and 70's, remember Borgnine for his crazy antics of the hit television show McHales Navy. The showed aired from 1962 to 1966, but remained for many years on the syndication circuit. A whole generation grew up with the show.

Borgnine's longest marriage was to Tova Traesnaes. He married Tova in 1973, and this was his last marriage.

Another legend has been lost.

While millions of viewers of NBC’s top-rated summer series, America’s Got Talent, await the impending live competition debut of THE ALL WAYS, hundreds of lucky campers along the 2012 CAMPLIFIED SUMMER TOUR are anticipating a VIP concert experience with the Rockland County, NY band starting this week.

The All Ways – one of the Top 48 acts still vying for the $1 million grand prize on AGT as the live portion enters its second week – will be making the first of two exclusive appearances on the CAMPLIFIED tour of U.S. summer camps Saturday, July 14 at Capital Camps in Waynesboro, PA, just west of Gettysburg. The All Ways’ second tour stop will be Sunday, July 22 at Greenwood Trails in Winsted, CT, the Berkshires. Starting this week, America’s Got Talent airs a two-hour live performance episode on Tuesdays (8-10 pm ET) and a one hour live elimination round on Wednesdays (9-10 pm ET).

“We’re very excited to see the All Ways joining the ranks of other famous CAMPLIFIED alumni such as Cody Simpson, Kicking Daisies, and Rachel Platten, whose careers we’ve boosted in recent years,” says music executive Aimee Berger, CAMPLIFIED’s founder. “We’ve been following the All Ways’ progress closely this season on the pre-recorded portions of America’s Got Talent, and we’ll keep watching and rooting for them during the live competition. We wish them the best!”

The tour, which kicked off its 11th season last week, is rocking more than 30,000 kids in 38 summer camps across the United States by creating a unique and exclusive one-day music festival environment at each stop.

SIR RICHARD BRANSON PROMOTES
THE BUSINESS OF SAVING SHARKS

Could Well-Managed Whale Shark Tourism Save the Species?
****

Sir Richard Branson Swims With Shark

Today, Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group and Virgin Unite, joins non-profit group WildAid to swim with 300 whale sharks off the coast of Cancun to demonstrate that the economic benefits of shark tourism can drastically outweigh the value derived from killing a shark for its fins. According to WildAid, the lifetime economic value of a single whale shark can exceed US$2 million, compared to a few hundred dollars to kill the same shark for its fins.

Sir Richard and his family, who are in Mexico to celebrate Virgin Atlantic’s new direct service from London Gatwick to Cancun, took a detour to swim with these gentle giants and raise awareness of shark conservation. It is estimated that whale shark tourism is worth over US$47 million worldwide per year.

“Sharks play an incredibly vital role in our lives both environmentally and economically,” said Sir Richard. “They are at the top of the food chain and balance the ocean's now fragile ecosystem, and the conservation tourism numbers show that they are more useful to coastal communities alive than dead. It goes without saying that we must do everything we can to preserve these highly-threatened, magnificent creatures.”

Sir Richard has been working with WildAid in support of sharks for the past year. In September 2011, Sir Richard joined WildAid Ambassador Yao Ming in Shanghai to call for a ban on shark fin soup in China, and in March 2012, he joined WildAid Board Member Bo Derek in Toronto to call for increased legislation to end the shark fin trade.

Fins from up to 73 million sharks are used every year to make shark fin soup and related food products. Shark finning is a cruel and wasteful practice – captured at sea and hauled on deck, the sharks are often still alive while their fins are sliced off. Because shark meat is not considered as valuable as the fins, the maimed animals are tossed overboard to drown or bleed to death. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) estimates that 1/3 of the world’s pelagic shark species are threatened with extinction, with certain species experiencing declines up to 90%.

About WildAid:

WildAid’s mission is to end the illegal wildlife trade in our lifetime by reducing demand through public awareness campaigns and providing comprehensive marine protection. WildAid has been investigating the shark fin industry and markets around the world for over a decade. Extensive footage and stills of shark finning, the fin trade and preparing shark fin, as well as our PSAs, are available upon request. For more information, visit www.wildaid.com.

About Virgin Unite:

Virgin Unite is the non-profit foundation of the Virgin Group. We unite people to tackle tough social and environmental problems in an entrepreneurial way. Our aim is to help revolutionize the way businesses, government and the social sector work together – driving business as a force for good. This is based on the belief that this is the only way we can tackle the scale and urgency of the challenges facing the world today. Virgin Unite’s overheads are covered by Sir Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, meaning that 100% of additional donations received go direct to the frontline where they are needed most. Whoopi Goldberg
THE 2012 ALL FOR ONE THEATER FESTIVAL, which begins September 14th at the 179 seat Cherry Lane Theatre/Mainstage, 38 Commerce Street, NYC, will feature 10 extraordinary solo performers presenting their own works. This 2nd AFO Theater Festival, which continues through September 30th, will offer two performances of each play plus panels, workshops, works in development, talk-back audience sessions after every performance and a special solo performance Mentoring Program with Nilaja Sun for high school students. This second AFO season features solo plays directed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett, BD Wong and Colman Domingo; the World Premiere of “WHAT I THOUGHT I KNEW” by Alice Eve Cohen, based on her New York Times bestseller, and the NY Premiere of Emmy-winner and theatre favorite Leslie Jordan’s new solo piece “FRUIT FLY.”

Michael Wolk, Executive Producer said: “The All For One Theater Festival is a nonprofit organization presenting outstanding solo shows that inform and inspire, along with workshops and panels to promote excellence in solo theater.

“This year, we have LILY TOMLIN, PATRICK STEWART, WHOOPI GOLDBERG, CARRIE FISHER and many other solo artists standing with us on our Advisory Board, and their message is clear: solo performance matters. In a time when it’s easy to point and click news stories away like gnats, solo theater gives us the means to personally connect with the life’s important issues.

BD Wong

“Because they believe solo performance matters, BD Wong, Colman Domingo, and Broadway’s Lynne Taylor-Corbett not only serve on our advisory board, but will all direct shows in the 2012 All For One Theater Festival.

“AFO 2012 offers 10 stories of personal triumph – triumphs that, through masterful performance, become OUR triumphs.

"To cite just two examples: FRUIT FLY, a New York Premiere, is Emmy Award-winner Leslie Jordon’s inspiring peon to finding your own path; WHAT I THOUGHT I KNEW, a World Premiere by Alice Eve Cohen, is based on her critically acclaimed, award-winning memoir and tells of her miraculous mid-life pregnancy.

“A great solo show starts a conversation – so we’re delighted to announce this year ALL performances will be followed by audience talkbacks.

“We know the shows in the Festival will start many conversations and we hope, through our new booking partnership with Peter Ligeti and The Show Store, that after the Festival, our shows will tour to theaters and campuses across America.”

The All For One Theater Festival launched its inaugural season on 11.11.11 – November 11, 2011 – at Theatre 80 St. Marks in New York City, presenting a program of 15 highly acclaimed full-length solo works plus 6 short pieces, 5 panels with leaders of solo performance, and 8 workshops led by the solo performance community’s most respected instructors. A New Works Series and an evening of excerpts were also presented.

With its second NY season this fall, All For One continues to build its burgeoning community of solo theater performers, writers, directors, educators and audiences. All For One works year-round to promote its Festival shows and workshops and expand the audiences for these amazing artists.

This year, AFO premieres The AFO Mentor Project. Through this program, six exceptional high school students, selected from schools throughout NYC, will participate in an extended workshop in the art of solo performance lead by award-winning writer/actress Nilaja Sun. The project will culminate in the inaugural AFO Student Showcase in December 2012. The first of these workshops will occur during the 2012 AFO Theater Festival on Sunday, September 16 at 4:30pm. (This workshop is by-invitation-only and is not open to the public.)

On Wednesday, September 26th (7 to 8:30 PM) the AFO Festival Salon will celebrate the vibrant and thriving solo theatre community with an evening of 10 minute excerpts from 10 new works by up-and-coming solo performers. This evening is open to the public with a $10 ticket.

The 2012 AFO Festival performance schedule September 14 through 30 is: Wednesday-Sundays at 7 PM; Saturdays & Sundays at 2 PM and 4:30 PM.

There will be Workshops with AFO advisors and/or performers Nilaja Sun, Gretchen Cryer, Leslie Jordan, Deb Margolin, Matt Hoverman, Alice Eve Cohen, Jennifer S. Jones, Debra Barsha, Lynne Taylor-Corbett and others as well as several panels related to the development, performance and production of solo performance. (See Workshop schedule below)

SUMMER ETIQUETTE WITH KATHY POSNER

ETIQUETTE FROM CHICAGO
****

 Kathy Posner

Last year I wrote a blog about summer etiquette that listed the important rules of how one should comfort themselves when the temperature is high. I find it necessary to repeat those tips again because of a phone call I received from my friend Jill. She reached out to me because there was not one single woman on the street or in her office who was wearing panty hose besides herself and it bothered her for the same reasons it bothers me. She asked me to re-run my rules about how should conduct themselves when temperatures soar.

KATHY'S SUMMER RULES

1. I find it disgusting when women wear dress shoes without stockings. Sandals I can barley tolerate, but pumps without hosiery? What is so difficult about putting on panty hose in the summer? Most women’s legs are pale and pathetic and I don’t want to look at stubbly legs. Plus, having bare feet encased in leather shoes without stockings creates a sweating situation that leads to smelly feet. Offices, stores and restaurants are air conditioned!! Put on stockings!

This is how your feet look!

2. I can tolerate sandals without hose but, really, with the exception of going to the beach, do people really need to wear open toed footwear? I don’t want to see people’s dry, cracked heels and the corns on their toes. Have some pride! If one is going to wear sandals, make sure the feet are pedicured (men also!) and free of bunions and bumps.

3. No woman over the age of 21 should ever wear anything sleeveless in public unless they are hospitalized with IV needles in their arms or at the beach. (see note 5 on not going to the beach)

4. Capri pants are also a fashion horror! Does that missing few inches of cloth at the hem of trousers keep one cooler? No! Women look pathetic in short pants. Only Lord Fauntleroy could get away with wearing them.

How is this attractive?

5. There is no reason to ever go to the beach (see note 3 for dressing at the beach). Why would anyone want to lie out in the blazing hot sun and be forced to use a porta-potty to “freshen up.” Plus swimming in a lake or ocean is repulsive. Fish and other creatures live in the body of water one might swim in and it is not only their personal porta-potty, but where they procreate! You want to put your face in that? Might as well lick the floor at the CTA station if you want to wallow in germs.

6. Steaks and hamburgers grilled over charcoals certainly do taste better than when broiled in a kitchen’s oven. But who wants to eat outside in the heat with bugs? It is okay to attend a backyard barbecue as long as one is allowed to eat inside where it is air conditioned. My friend Karen has a yearly summer event and I love attending, but I eat my food at her dining room table with utensils as any civilized person should. Picnics in the woods are totally insane! (see porta-potty #5)

7. Avoid going outside as much as possible if one lives in an urban environment with sidewalks. Aliens land in the summer and populate cities. I know they are visitors from outer space because they are always stopping in the middle of the sidewalk and looking skyward obviously trying to locate their Mother ship.

If you think about it, summer is just winter reversed. Winter is cold outside and heated inside; summer is just the opposite. No big deal! If one acts the same as they did in winter, they will not make a fool of themselves in summer by trying to do crazy things like walking on a beach or getting a tan.

"In Winter I get up at night and dress by yellow candle-light. In Summer quite the other way, I have to go to bed by day."

THE SAD TRUTH ABOUT BEING POOR WITH PETS
 Story By: James Edstrom
****

Ashley With Stanley

It is very sad what the poor have to go through trying to keep their pets healthy. It really is.

A transgender girl, Ashley lives in my building. She has a dog she rescued a couple of years ago who was a abused and beaten animal. The dog is a Boxer and his name is Stanley. Ashley is poor.

Stanley started to grow a huge Tumor on his leg around a year ago. She had it checked out, she spent her food money for the Vet, and the Vet told her it was just a cyst and the dog was in good health. Well it started to get bigger and Ashley got scared, so she scraped up the little money she had and went to the Vet again. This time the news was not so good. It was a Tumor and it had to be removed.

Now the Vet Ashley went too was one of those places that advertise themselves as "Gods Gift To Animals" in all the media stories. But they want money. Lot's of money and Ashley is Disabled. She has no money. They also told her they did not do Surgery, which I find strange considering their website has the following on it's pages.

• Office Visits
• Wellness Exams
• Inoculations
• Blood Tests
• X-rays
• Ultra Sound
• Geriatric Care
• Complete Medical and Surgical Management
• EKG
• Spay/Neuter
• Hospitalization
• Medical Care for Exotic Pets
• Endoscopy

They told her she would have to get a Surgeon and that costs money. Once again, Ashley has none. They told her there was nothing they could do then. So I look at their website once again and I find the following:

Neediest cases (frequently elderly or disabled owners with acutely ill pets) receive full or partial underwriting for care; costs are covered through the Society's Animal Emergency Appeal. Each year, hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of life-giving care for animals in need is made a reality through such underwriting.

Now, here you have a sick dog with a huge Tumor growing from it's leg. The dog is walking on three legs because this Tumor is so big. And this "God's Gift To Animals" place won't help. Who is this organization you ask? Well I am going to tell you, The Humane Society Of New York.

THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF NEW YORK SHOULD BE ASHAMED!

So Ashley starts making calls. She calls her case worker with Village Care. They give her a list of places they think will help. None of them will. She starts making phone calls. She is sent to The Animal Medical Center, on the RICH UPPER EAST SIDE. I warn her about going there. I told her horror stories when my cat fell down 6 stories and all The Animal Medical Center cared about was money. I told her how people were in their emergency room and had no money and the nurses were saying to these people, " How do you feel about euthanasia". That still costs hundreds at The Animal Medical Center, nothing is free at this place. You can see this from the following from their website:

Payment Options

The staff and veterinarians of The Animal Medical Center appreciate your patronage. For your information, we have outlined the billing process and payment options available to our AMC clients.

Outpatient Care: All outpatient care is payable in full at the time of service.

Inpatient Care: Prior to admitting a pet to the hospital, the owner will receive a preliminary estimate of the cost based on the doctor’s initial examination and the anticipated testing and treatment plan for the pet. This estimate may change as the pet’s condition changes or a diagnosis is made.

We require a deposit of 50% of the estimate plus all outpatient charges.

We accept all major credit cards, Care Credit, cash and personal checks with valid ID. Also, be sure to ask about the CC Express plan, The AMC’s expedited credit card payment system.

For financially-qualified pet owners who have inpatient pets with a good prognosis, The Animal Medical Center may offer partial assistance through the Patient Assistance Fund. The Patient Assistance Fund has limited resources and not every pet will qualify. When a pet owner does qualify, a portion of the bill must be paid by the pet owner before money will be allotted from the fund.

*As a not-for-profit organization, we do not receive state, local, or federal funding of any kind.

Now from my own experience with bringing my cat to this place, I was told it would be around twelve  hundred to fix my cat. By the time they were done, we were up to three grand with no end in site. So I know very well their estimate changes. And their estimate for helping Stanley was thousands of bucks.

They also have the following on their site:

As a nonprofit organization, your contributions help The AMC deliver this expert care to animals in need. Please consider a gift to support The AMC’s life-saving work.

IS STANLEY A ANIMAL IN NEED?

The search continues. I sent her to Bide-A-Wee, they tell her they can not help, which I am surprised, because I know for a fact they have these funds that rich people leave to them when they die for such emergencies. I make phone calls to people I know who are involved in pet rescues. They give me some numbers. At first they were very nice when Ashley called, then they got nasty on follow up calls, and said they didn't do this sort of thing and  did not know who she could go to. They did not know? They rescue pets and don't know?

MEDIA OF LAST RESORT

So I sent a letter out to someone in the media who I know get's results fast. Help Me Howard from WPIX in New York. I never met him, but have seen him in the hallways of WPIX several times when I was there with Jerry Springer. I have many friends at WPIX, but Howard is the expert at getting this kind of help. I could raise money on my site or some pet site I was told about, but we have no time. Stanley is getting worse. I figured the best way to go was the media. I hope Howard gets my letter today or tomorrow or reads my site today. We need help!

ABOUT STANLEY

Stanley is a wonderful friendly boxer. He came from a abused home and Ashley rescued him from his life of neglect and abuse. Walking through Times Square with Stanley, brings hello's from just about everyone. Tourist's always stop to pet him and the people who live in the neighborhood always run up to say hello to Stanley. Stanley has become a fixture in Times Square and for the first time in Stanley's life, he has a wonderful home.

THIS AND THAT

Bitching By: James Edstrom

 Barack Obama

It is amazing that the Congress is not voting on anything good for the Country, yet it keeps voting to repeal the new health care law. I think this is the 30th time they voted to repeal it, even know they know it won't pass the Senate. This is such a disgrace. It really is.

This do nothing Congress, controlled by the Republicans, who were sent to Washington to get things done, refuse to do their jobs. They do not care if a bill is good for the Country, their main objective is to make it look like Barack Obama isn't doing his job.

Election day is coming very soon. It is time to tell these overpaid Republican members of Congress, who have great health care, to leave. It really is. Being a life long Republican, I am so disgusted at these guys. They do not represent me and most of my Republican friends have decided to vote for Barack Obama. What a sad day when the Democrats represent the needs of the Republicans better.

BARACK OBAMA WILL BE A BETTER PRESIDENT

Anyone that can not see that Mitt Romney is for the rich, needs to get their head examined. His off shore accounts, his inventing of Out-Sourcing Jobs overseas and so many other things. Mitt Romney has no idea what it is like for Americans now. Everyone I know, that used to live the good life, is suffering. Everyone that I know that used to be living the American dream is now living the American Nightmare. Barack Obama knows this and Barack Obama wants to fix this. The Republicans would rather vote down every bill, even if they are good for the Country, to give the rich more money and to give themselves more money.

George Bush

GEORGE BUSH RUINED THIS COUNTRY WITH THE HELP OF HIS REPUBLICAN CRONIES

The Republicans would have you believe that the Country is a mess because of Barack Obama. They twist and bend everything to fit their needs when the reality is George Bush and the Republicans ran this country for the rich. When Wall Street and the Banks failed, they saved their rich friends. They made it look like they were saving you and me. Then when Americans expected Wall Street and The Banks to do the right thing with our bailout money and make America whole again, they only looked out for the rich, while Middle Class Americans lost just about everything. These are facts and anyone that says they are not, is either very dumb or for the rich.

Denise Rich Gives Up America

DISGUSTING THAT DENISE RICH GIVES UP AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP

Having known Denise Rich around 20 years, I am really disgusted that in order to save money on taxes, she would give up her American Citizenship. America has done so much for her, but the rich always want to be richer. I like Denise in a weird sort of way, she has always treated me nice, but on the other hand her lifestyle disgusts me. It really does and it always has.

Denise Rich does not know the real world and never has. Everything in her life has always been handed to her. She came from a rich family and married a rich crook, Marc Rich. In 1983, Marc Rich was indicted in federal court of evading more than $48 million in taxes. He was also charged with 51 counts of tax fraud and with running illegal oil deals with Iran during the hostage crisis. He became known as the fugitive financier, because the coward ran away. Then in 2001, President Clinton pardoned Marc Rich, but there was a paper trail leading to huge donations to The Clinton Library by Denise Rich. Denise Rich got her ex-husband pardoned, and she got away with it.

Denise Rich also declined to testify to Congress, citing her Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination. This really disgusted me. If you did nothing, then tell the truth. Once again Denise Rich got what she wanted.

PARTIES AT DENISE RICH'S APARTMENTS

I went to many parties in Denise Rich's 5th Avenue Penthouse Apartment. Sometimes I was a guest, sometimes I was hired as a extra photographer. The extravagance amazed me. Million dollar paintings on her walls, billion dollar views of the whole city, servants everywhere. Celebrities performing in her living room, the finest champagne and food. When Denise would entertain, the world begged for a invite. She had publicity people always running around to cater to the media, and the press of New York City ate it all up, hook, line and sinker. They loved being catered too and they repaid Denise with great stories.

Aretha Franklin

DENISE RICH PAID FOR EVERYONE

I have no doubt that Denise Rich would never have had  a Grammy Nomination if it was not for her high profile entertaining of the people in power. Denise buys everything and everyone. From Patti Labelle to Aretha Franklin, she entertains them all.

DENISE RICH SHOULD STAY OUT OF AMERICA

Denise Rich should just stay out of America with her very ugly boyfriend. She is claiming in the media that she is selling her properties. Let her do that. And while Denise Rich is at it, she should stop throwing The Angel Ball here in New York City, a event that is a charity for her deceased daughter. You don't want to be a American, then don't ask Americans for money. Start your fundraising in Iran, your ex-husband should have those connections for you.

 Mitt Romney

THE RICH WILL ALWAYS GET RICHER

This is the way it will be in America if we don't let Barack Obama fix this country. People like Denise Rich will just get richer and the middle class will die. People like Denise Rich will dine in the finest restaurants while we wonder how to feed our family tomorrow. People like Mitt Romney and Denise Rich will sail on the oceans on their yachts, while we drown in a ocean of debt. The rich get richer off our backs and when will we get smart and make them play by the same rules. This is what Barack Obama will do and Mitt Romney will only bend the rules some more to make the rich Denise Richer!

 Jerry Springer

BRETT WINTERBLE, on Sirius/XM (Sirius/XM-channel 168) scooped the East Coast Monday (and, even ABC’s The View) when he had on attorney Jose Baez (Casey Anthony) and unearthed several key points from the book. First, that he and his pregnant wife checked into the hospital under assumed names as his wife gave birth and, that his house accidentally went into foreclosure, because he was so wrapped up in the Anthony-case. His book, Presumed Guilty is a runaway best-seller.

Winterble, in the last two weeks, has had on a wide-ranging series of guests, including: Karen Lynn Gorney from the film Saturday Night Fever; Bobby-producer Edward Bass; sex-therapist Debra Laino; Carmine Appice, the drummer from the legendary band, Vanilla Fudge; Dr. Taylor Rutledge who produced the documentary about DDT called 3 Billion and Counting; Director Tanya Wexler, who’s new film Hysteria stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Hugh Dancy; Monkee-Micky Dolenz; Surpreme-Mary Wilson; music newcomer Adrian Niles; Gene Cornish, from The Rascals; Soprano-actor Robert Funaro; Harry Haun from Playbill; music man Kal Rudman; and, yesterday Times Square Gossip’s own James Edstrom, where the topic of Jerry Springer was discussed. Says Brett, “Jerry Springer is a really versatile voice in the debate. You know where Jerry stands, politically, but, even though you might disagree with him, he always remains civil. It'd be hard to picture Jerry throwing f-bombs at people he disagrees with. I think being around lesbian strippers and doing paternity tests with state prison inmates has a softening effect on you as a host! Radio is more fun when people come at it in a less than rigid way. Springer is a lot of things, Rigid, ain't one of them!"

Though Winterble is a fierce politico - listen to some of his podcasts, he's thoroughly engaging when talking to entrainment personalities. "I would like my show to be ...thought of as a place that is comprised of an ongoing conversation with topics that cross hours, days, even weeks. An ongoing conversation of entertainment and politics with a dose of sarcasm and tongue in cheek humor."

Next week, the host will talk to legendary-comedian Pat Cooper; TV’s Joe Franklin; adult-film legend Houston; Randy Jones from The Village People; Toronto-based writer Jacqueline Boyd; and, Daily Variety TV-editor Brian Lowry.

The Winterble has landed!
